Our team is comprised of scientists with decades of experience and education in the field of environmental services. We regularly attend educational seminars to enhance our understanding of the latest advancements in environmental services including annual meetings with the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA).
Thomas Knight has decades of experience in the environmental services field. He graduated with a M.S. in Environmental Health Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1996. From there, he served as Senior Industrial Hygienist with Hartford Insurance where he regularly conducted detailed site safety assessments at hundreds of workplaces throughout New England.
Thomas has a wide range of experience in industrial hygiene investigations including air monitoring, noise dosimetry, indoor air quality assessments, mold and moisture investigations, and ergonomic assessments. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and an accredited Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act Inspector from the EPA. Thomas acquired Nauset Environmental Services in 2023 with the intent of carrying on the NES tradition of providing top-tier indoor air quality services to Southern New England customers.
Dr. Vaughan has an impressive background in environmental services that spans six decades. A few of his numerous industry credentials include: EPA Radon Residential Measurement Service provider, an EPA AHERA Asbestos Provider, Massachusetts Asbestos Inspector, and a Council-certified Indoor Environmentalist.
He founded Nauset Environmental Services in 1998. In 2023, Dr. Vaughan retired from active site investigations to provide off-site consulting and expert witness services.
Alex MacLellan joined NES in 2005 and has assisted with a wide range of residential and industrial mold inspections in over 900 homes and businesses across Cape Cod. He has completed extensive training at the IAQ Training Institute, where he was designated a Council-certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI) certificate.
